# Privacy Policy
Operyn: AEO SEO scoring (the "App") is provided by BSS Labs. This policy explains, in plain words, what data the App collects, why, and how long we keep it.
**In short:** the App audits your store content and recommends improvements so AI can understand your store better, and changes your store only when you choose to apply them. It never accesses your customers or orders, and we never sell your data.
### 1. What We Collect
#### From your Shopify store
**write\_products**
We access product information, including titles, descriptions, images, SEO fields, tags, vendor and pricing. The App audits how well your products can be understood by AI answer engines and search engines, and uses AI to recommend improvements to your product content. Write access lets the App apply an optimized version of a product's content, such as its description or SEO fields, only when you choose to update that product. The App never changes your products without your action, and product data is also used to build your llms.txt and AI sitemap.
**write\_content**
We access your collections, pages, blogs and blog articles, including titles, body content, summaries, tags and SEO fields. The App audits how clearly this content can be understood by AI answer engines and search engines, and uses AI to recommend improvements to it. Write access lets the App apply an optimized version of a collection, page or article, such as its description or SEO fields, only when you choose to update it. The App never changes your content without your action, and this content is also used to build your llms.txt and AI sitemap.
**write\_themes**
We access your published theme and its files. The App audits how easily AI crawlers can discover and read your store, including your llms.txt, robots.txt and other AI entry points, and recommends improvements. Write access lets the App customize these entry points and install the App's theme app embed only when you choose to enable them. The App never changes your theme's design, layout or other files without your action.
**write\_metaobjects and write\_metaobject\_definitions**
We access only the metaobjects and metaobject definitions the App creates. The App audits the structured data (JSON-LD) on your store, such as Organization, Local Business, FAQ and Product information, and recommends improvements so AI answer engines and search engines can read accurate facts about your business. Write access lets the App save and publish your structured data only when you choose to publish it. The App never reads or changes metaobjects created by you or other apps.
**read\_legal\_policies**
We access your store's refund, privacy, shipping and terms of service policies. The App audits whether these policies are complete and easy for AI answer engines and search engines to find and understand, and recommends improvements. The App also uses them as context when generating AI-powered recommendations for your store. This is read-only access: the App never changes your policies.
We also read your shop's name, email, domain, currency, plan, business address and phone, to prefill forms you can edit.
#### Other information
* **Staff who use the App:** name, email and Shopify user ID, from Shopify's login session.
* **What you tell us:** onboarding answers (brand, contact email, markets, products, social links), your settings, and your storefront password if your store is password-protected.
* **Your public storefront:** the App crawls your public pages (text, links, structured data, page speed) to audit them.
**Storefront visitors:** the App adds no scripts or cookies to your storefront and collects nothing about your visitors or customers.
### 2. How We Use It
We use the information we collect solely to provide, maintain and improve the App, specifically to:
* Audit your store and measure how well AI answer engines and search engines can understand it;
* Use AI to generate optimized content and recommendations for your review;
* Authenticate you and keep your account secure;
* Provide customer support and respond to your requests.
We do not use your information for advertising or marketing, and we do not build profiles of your customers.
### 3. Who We Share It With
We never sell your data. We share it only with:
* **Shopify**, which runs the platform the App is built on.
* **AI providers**, which help us turn your audit results into practical AEO and SEO suggestions. Suggestions are generated by AI models hosted on our own infrastructure and by [OpenAI](https://openai.com/policies/privacy-policy) and [Google Gemini](https://policies.google.com/privacy). We share only the store content needed for this, such as product details, page text and policies. We never share staff names or email addresses.
* **Authorities**, only when the law requires it.
### 4. How Long We Keep It
* **Store data:** while the App is installed; deleted about 48 hours after you uninstall.
* **Login sessions:** deleted as soon as you uninstall.
* **Customer data:** we don't store any.
### 5. Security
Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS), every request to our servers is authenticated, and only authorised staff can access it.
### 6. Your Rights
You can ask us to see, correct, export or delete your data at any time by contacting us, and uninstalling the App deletes your store data. If you are in the EEA or UK, your data may be processed outside it under safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses, and you can complain to your local data protection authority.
### 7. Changes
We may update this policy. We will change the date above and tell you in the App about important changes.
